The Kroc Center offers comprehensive "Learn to Swim" programs for all ages. Our instructors are Red Cross Certified and make the lessons fun! In addition to the programs listed below, Parent Child Swim and Private Lessons are also available.
YOUTH SWIM LESSONS (Ages 3-13): To help you with your busy schedule, we have adapted our swim lessons to fit your family needs. Sign-up by choosing a day and time, registers all of your children for the same class, and we'll take care of the rest! On the first day your children will be tested and divided into groups by skill level. The instructor will then challenge your children where they are, making sure water safety and basic skills are reinforced and built on.
TEEN & ADULT SWIM LESSONS (Ages 14+): This class is designed for the beginner to intermediate swimmer. We will teach you simple safety skills starting with floats and glides, and work up to a beginner stroke on the front and back. Or, if you are already a swimmer and want to improve your current swimming strokes, we can challenge you where you are and assist in reaching your personal goals.
Do you want to save lives? Through video, discussion and hands on practice, you will learn the essential skills to become a certified lifeguard through the American Red Cross. Participants must be at least 15 years old before the final scheduled session (proof required), able to swim 300 yards non-stop with rotary breathing using freestyle and breaststroke, able to tread water for two minutes,
dive approximately 10 feet down to retrieve a
brick and swim 20 yards with both hands on
the brick. Participants must also pass a timed
20 yard swim.
All levels and ages are welcome!
Private and semi-private 30-minute lessons provide one-on-one attention. Contact the Aquatics Manager with any questions or

Candidates will be lead through the American Red Cross Swimming and Water Safety program by developing their understanding of how to use the course materials, how to conduct training sessions and how to evaluate participants’ progress. The course includes online instruction (proof of completion is required). You will be taught to work with all ages, special needs and some fitness aspects. Certification will allow candidates to teach lower level safety classes and "Safety Training for Coaches".
Prerequisites: Candidates must successfully complete the pre-course session including demonstration of swimming skill at Learn-to-Swim Level 4 (all four competitive strokes, elementary backstroke and sidestroke). Each participant will be contacted one week prior to the start of class to begin their online training. Bring a sack lunch.
*Candidate must turn 16 on or before the last day of the course.
All participants will be charged a $35 fee by the ARC for online
Drop-in group aquatic classes are a perfect way to learn new skills and water safety, make friends, or improve your fitness. Throughout the year, the Kroc Center offers a variety of aquatic classes to improve flexibility, muscular toning and cardiovascular fitness!
NON-MEMBER: $10.00 (INCLUDES DAY PASS)
